Hello and welcome.  Please allow me a moment of your time for the smallest of introductions. My name is Eva Vanrell and in the beginning of 2011, I took a blind leap of faith to pursue what I loved most. The result of that journey is my debut novel, The Butterfly Crest. This site catalogues my experiences in throwing myself headlong into the journey of writing my first book, and all the things that followed. I’ve started writing Book Two of the series, so please stay tuned.

The Butterfly Crest is the first book in a planned series that tells the story of a human girl who suddenly finds herself in the middle of a Greek myth and an ancient war between gods, in a world where the old myths are real and human belief has the power to alter the divine. In a world of gods and monsters, life can be an exercise in futility. The Protogenoi Series will tell the tale of Elena, who sacrifices everything to struggle against that inevitability, choosing to resist even when the outcome is doomed from the start.
